| 1.
Remove carrier assembly from the backpack. |
|
|
| 2. Remove the
wheels and parts bags from the nested body sections. |
|
|
| 3. Lay out the
3 main body sections in line on as flat as ground as is available.
The largest of the 3 pieces is the rear section (part # BSR).
The piece that is open at both ends is the middle section (part
# BSM). And the narrowest piece (with the closed end) is the
front section (part # BSF). |
|
FIGURE 1 |
| 4. Remove two
of the connecting dowels (part # CD) from their carry bag and
attach one each to the two corners of the front edge of the
rear body section (see figs. 1 & 2). They slip on over the
corner flange of the body section until they hit a “stop”
in the connecting dowel. |
|

FIGURE 2 |
| 5. Lift the rear
and middle body sections up from the ground so that the bottom
edges of the two sections may be joined. Insert the leading
(male) edge of the slip hinge on the middle section into the
receiving (female) slot of the slip hinge on the rear section
(see fig. 3). Center the two body cavity pieces so that the
sides are aligned and set the body pieces back down on the ground
so that the rear corner flanges of the middle section slip into
the grooves of the connecting dowels protruding from the rear
body section. You may need to help align the top edges of the
middle section with the grooves of the connecting dowels on
each side of the rear section (see fig. 4). |
|

FIGURE 3

FIGURE 4
|
| 6. With the two
remaining connecting dowels repeat the above procedure to attach
the front section to the middle section (see figs. 5 & 6).
|

FIGURE 5 |
|
| 7. Remove the
two rear handles (part # RH) from their carry bag. |
|

FIGURE 6
|
| 8. Remove all
of the pole sections (part # FPS & MPS) from their carrying
bag. Set the two without the black-tipped screw inserts (part
# FPS) aside for use in step 11. |
|
| 9. Each of the
two rear handle/pole assemblies will consist of a rear handle,
a middle pole section, and a forward pole section (see fig.
7). |
|

FIGURE 7 |
| 10. Screw one
of the middle pole sections (part # MPS) onto each of the rear
handles. |
|
|
| 11. Now screw
one of the forward pole sections (part # FPS) onto the middle
pole/rear handle assemblies (see fig. 8). |
|

FIGURE 8 |
| 12. From the rear
of the assembled body cavity, slide the rear handle/pole assembly
through the handle-retaining mount on the upper rear most edge
of the rear body section. Continue to feed the pole assembly
through each set of connecting dowels on each side of the body
assembly. Push the rear handle/pole assembly snugly up into
the forward handle-retaining mount on the front edge of the
forward body section (see fig. 9). |
|
FIGURE 9 |
| 13. Remove the
two front handles (part # FH) from their carrying bag. *Note-
they are the elongated “L” shaped handles with threaded
knobs tethered to them. |
|
|
| 14.
Slide the squared and open end of the front handle over the
squared front handle-retaining mount on the upper front edge
of the front body section (see fig. 10). |
|
FIGURE 10
|
| 15. Thread the
screw-end knobs onto each of the two pole assemblies and tighten
them finger tight to secure the front handles into place (see
fig. 11). Do not overtighten. |
|
FIGURE 11
|
| 16.
*Note- the front handles may be secured to the body cavity in
several configurations. With one person pulling, it is recommended
that the handles be turned outward (see fig. 12). With two people
pulling, it is recommended that the handles be turned inward.
The handles may be turned upward or downward, as well, to decrease
or increase the angle of the carrier. In the snow, it is recommended
that the handles be turned outward and facing toward the back
of the unit (see fig. 13). A rope can be attached to the eyelet
of each handle and the carrier may be dragged as a sled. |

FIGURE 13
|
| 17. Attach the
two wheels (part # WA) to the two half-axles (part #HA) by pulling
up on the axle locking pin (see fig. 14) until the half axle
is released, and sliding the half-axle out of the axle housing.
Slip the wheel onto the half-axle, spoke rim inward, then push
the half-axle (with the wheel in place) back into the axle housing
until it locks into place (see fig. 15). |

18. Your Buckpack
game carrier is now ready to load (see fig. 16).
|
|
FIGURE 15 |

19. Load the
deer carcass with the hindquarters in the rear section of
the cavity with the legs pointed up. The head and/or antlers
can be secured to the front cavity section at the base of
the front handle mount. Cover the loaded carcass with a lightweight
plastic tarp (available option #PT) and secure in place with
an elastic tie-down web (available option #ET).
